What the AirMax8L Was
The AirMax8L was a mid-to-large purifier from Okaysou, with a chassis of about 14.17 by 9.52 inches and a 45-vane fan. The older review said it uses up to 50 watts and has a child lock, a sleep mode, auto shut-off and a filter light. It was said to be fully free of ozone and came with a 5-year warranty. The Amazon page shows it as currently unavailable as of October 15, 2026, with no price.
Looking ahead, the Okaysou AirMax8L is another case of a big-room purifier that has dropped off Amazon. The listing shows it as currently unavailable, with no price. The catch is that the older review gave two coverage claims that do not match, 800 square feet at 1.5 changes an hour and 320 square feet at five an hour.
What the Older Review Said
- Coverage. 320 square feet at five air changes an hour, and up to 800 square feet at about 1.5 per hour.
- Noise. Called one of the quietest, with a Silence Boost mode.
- Care. No regular maintenance. Replace the filters every 6 to 8 months.
- Rivals. The Alen BreatheSmart 45i, the Bissell Air280 Max and the TRACS EZ-Air system.
- Support. A customer care line open 24 hours.
The risk to watch is that mismatch. At 800 square feet and 1.5 changes an hour, the airflow works out to about 160 CFM. At 320 square feet and five changes an hour, it works out to about 213 CFM. Both cannot be right, and the page gives no CADR. Expect more listings with big room claims and no tested number. Trust a CADR from the AHAM test, and size to the smaller figure.
CADR and Real Room Size
An 8 foot ceiling makes a 320 square foot room 2,560 cubic feet. To change that air five times an hour, a purifier needs about 213 CFM. An 800 square foot room is 6,400 cubic feet, and 1.5 changes an hour needs about 160 CFM. Those two numbers do not match, and the older review gave no CADR. The safer reading is the lower airflow of about 160 CFM, which fits about 240 square feet at five changes an hour. Read what CADR means and how to choose the right size air purifier.
What to Buy Instead
The older review pointed to the Alen BreatheSmart 45i. A bigger, better-reviewed option today is the Coway Mighty. For more large-room choices, see air purifiers for large rooms. The older review also linked to the Okaysou AirMic4S review, which is covered on this site too.

Final Word
The AirMax8L was a fair pick for a large room, but it is out of stock. A Winix 5510 or a Coway Mighty gives you a tested base to buy from.
What happens next: the AirMax8L may return, but a unit with a published CADR is a safer buy for a large room.
